Background

Join us to IE University Model United Nations conference in the heart of the Spanish capital! IEUMUN is sure to be an unforgettable experience punctuated by high-quality debates, a wide range of exciting, thought-provoking committees and a fantastic social package!

With over 450 participants, you will meet a diverse array of motivated young people from all over the world to discuss the most pressing global challenges of the future. IE University is a world-class, top-ranked, multi-lingual university with a campus in Madrid. The university ranked 25th globally in the Times Higher Education Global Employability Ranking 2020, so this is also an excellent opportunity to network!

This year’s theme is “Cooperation in a deglobalizing world” with committee topics range from “The Situation in Sahel” in the UNSC to “ measures to facilitate voluntary repatriation” in the UNHCR.

IEUMUN also offers unique committees including the Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI) which will be entirely in Spanish for any Spanish speakers wishing to join us. Other special committees include a Quad-Cameral Crisis where four chambers will debate against each other regarding “Civilization Building in Ancient China.”

Moreover, we offer delegates the enriching experience of visiting embassies within The Hague. Previous visits to embassies include the USA, Bangladesh, India, Denmark, the Taiwanese Representative as well as talks from the Ambassadors of Georgia and Costa Rica. This allows you the unique experience of engaging in dynamic and thought-provoking conversations with professionals in the International Relations and Diplomacy fields.
